Figures released by NHS Digital have revealed there were about 1.2 billion visits to the NHS website over a 12-month period between October last year and September, equating to 2,300 views on average every minute.

There were 131 million visits to the Covid vaccine booking page while the BMI healthy weight calculator attracted 22 million visits, the most for a non-Covid page.

The NHS App and flu vaccine web pages took in 17 million and 6.5 million views respectively.

The pages on the site relating to high blood pressure and chickenpox generated the most views with 3.8 million each followed by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (3.3 million), high temperature in children (3.2 million), diarrhoea and vomiting (3.2 million), tonsillitis (2.8 million), urinary tract infections (2.7 million), rashes in babies and children (2.7 million), sore throat (2.6 million) and chest infection (2.6 million).
